Green light
for parking solution
It's one of life's great frustrations - driving endless circuits of a car park in the vain hope of finding a vacant Space. Qatar Company Computer Station has the solution in the shape of its video-based Parking Management System.
Computer Station, based in Doha, has developed technology which automatically monitors available parking Spaces via a network of intelligent IP video-based detection units, giving motorists instantaneous and accurate guidance on where to park.
The LED displays above each parking space are red when the space is occupied and green when it is available. For indoor use each detection unit can detect three to four parking Spaces at a time, while outdoors up to 32 Spaces are possible using a Single unit.
The System also has security applications because it records the licence plate of every vehicle and the continuous video can be used to detect and assess any car park incidents such as minor collisions. And if a motorist should forget where they parked - a kiosk can direct them directly to their vehicle using number plate recognition.
Computer Station General Manager Hashim Gumma says:
"The System has already been deployed in Germany, Turkey and in Qatar and the purpose of our presence here at Gulf Traffic is to let people know more ' about ourtechnology."
Computer Station is also showing the Modpark modularsolution for ticketing developed by German Company Designa Asytec, including products such as cashierterminals, exit devices and ticket validators.
